Day 54 – Portland, OR (Day 6)

Rain stopped the A/C replacement work.

About the Day
It was overcast all day and rain arrived in the late afternoon.

Activities
Elizabeth had appointments in the afternoon.

Carol and Anna made cookies … a mixture of chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and Butterfingers morsels. Though it may have been a first of its kind recipe, they were thoroughly tested by all and were found to be moist, of excellent texture, and delicious.

After avoiding it as long as possible, Tim and Dick got to work replacing a window air conditioner. The first task was to return a unit purchased in June (from Home Depot) for one (from Best Buy) that would fit the window. The removal was a nasty task because the old A/C was on the second floor, very heavy, and sealed in the window frame by huge amounts of caulk. It took hours, working from inside and outside, to get it out. Tim did the roof work.
It looks easy after the fact.
The rain began while we were framing for the new A/C.  Hopefully, we can finish tomorrow.

No games tonight. We watched a few episodes of Chuck and went to bed early.

Tomorrow
Jacob returns from Jackson Hole, WY.
