Yippee!
We
reached the end of the Alcan Highway today. We’ve driven all 1,422 miles from
Dawson Creek, BC to Delta Junction, AK.
The Route
The 208 mile trip went from Tok to Delta Junction on the Alaska
Highway (AK-2) and from there to Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway (AK-4).
About the Day
We awoke to clear skies and temperatures in the low 50s. The
temperature got to the low 60s by noon. Skies darkened north of Delta Junction
and it started to rain by early afternoon. The temperature dropped to the high
40s.

Leaving Tok. We'll be back. |
Along the Way
 |
We had straight driving most of the day. |
 |
Some have too much time on their hands. |

Delta Junction’s low temperature was -72°F on 01/06/1975. It was much nicer today. We stopped for lunch at Buffalo Center Drive In.

The best of few choices. |

Folks are really nice here. |

The Campground
We arrived at River’s Edge
RV Campground in the rain and did a partial set-up (side-to-side leveling
and connect electric, water and cable). We’ll hunker down until it stops
raining, then finish set-up.
Tomorrow
We’re planning to visit the Fairbanks Information Center,
University of Alaska Museum of the North and the Fairbanks Ice Museum.
