We’re camped outside Denali National Park 4,763 miles after leaving home.
The Route
Drive 121 miles on the George Parks Highway (AK-3) from Fairbanks
to Denali Park.
About Last Night
Sometimes a special experience comes from one thing leading to
another as it did last night.
We went for a walk around the campground, strolling along the Chena
River and down the various rows of RVs. We were about half way around the park
when we heard the rumble of car exhausts and the roar of engines. A line of
antique automobiles was winding its way through the park, going up and down
each row of campers. They revved engines and honked horns as they went.

The noise drew campers out of their rigs and discussions between
strangers began. We were near a new Airstream when the commotion began. We met
a couple from Florida (the husband was from the Dayton area), a man from Michigan
(he was a Spartan fan, his wife was a Wolverine fan) and the Airstream owners from
Columbus.
John and Rose Pearson live in German Village. They bought their
28’ International last year from Haydocy
Airstream. Rose blogs their trips. We had a delightful visit and look
forward to staying connected.

The Campground
The Denali RV Park is
located just 8 miles north of the Denali
Visitor Center on the George Parks Highway. First impressions are
excellent. Their park Wi-Fi is the fastest we’ve seen on the trip.
